Conceal to Reveal

[ Comfort Women's Memorial ]

City is overlapped by different time scales. The site is located near a historical block which used to be occupied by Japanese troops as comfort stations during WWII.

Instead of blurring the boundry between history and the present, the project uses wall and openings to mediate between the historical site and the city, creating a new sequence to observe the old site with study and transformation of walls. Different shape of walls form entrance, path or cells, creating distinct light and atmosphere for the visitors.
