Hidden Room

Through manipulation of path, view, and expectations, this project sets up rooms shaped as chevrons, one of the chevrons is doubled in a way that causes the observer to think that they’ve already passed through it but it’s actually a fifth room.

The main formal operation is skewing of axes to be able to contain doubled chevrons. By keeping the two courtyards symmetrical, the project will give one the perception of a symmetrical building with only four rooms.
