New Normal

This project starts by looking at people’s conventional use of entrances in the Somerville neighborhoods, where the importance of the back door is usually misrepresented by its location in the house.

By putting the original apartments perpendicularly, this design merges the original front door and back door formally to create a new entrance whose functionality is no longer fixed but depended on the visitor’s action.
